Signature for forms
Thomas Grobicki
It would be convenient if there was a simple signature capability on the form. Essentially the member could click on a field or button, and their "signature" information would be entered onto the form. It doesn't have to be an actual signature, just their name and unit number indicated they their authenticated account submitted the form.

Totally agree. This would be exceptionally useful and cut down on a tremendous amount of manual paperwork

We have forms that require the owner's signature. We would like to have the capability for electronic signatures on forms.

Our HOA needs to be able to have some way for our members to "sign" our forms to indicate that they agree to the terms on that form. We really need a form that includes a feature that would qualify as an "E signature" to make it a legally binding agreement to give us power to enforce the terms.
NOTE: Currently I use the check box feature that must be "checked" in order to submit the form. The description for that check box says "By checking, you agree to all terms stated herein" hoping that this will be sufficient to hold the member legally binding to our terms and conditions. Can you verify if this "check box" method qualifies as a legally binding agreement? If not, then we need some sort of "E Signature" type method to make our forms enforcable. Thanks!

James "Jim" Darby: I'm afraid we're not able to advise on the legality of using the checkbox as a substitute. That question would be best directed to an attorney.

FYI-UETA and ESIGN Act law established in 2000 will satisfy this.
