HOAExpress is very user friendly; however, the available website color and style options are very limited and dated. Please update to include more color, layout and style options.

Maybe a few sets to choose from ... *Seasonal (beach, canoe, snow/snow persons, foliage, spring flowers, etc)
*Holidays
*Colors / patterns

I didn't say I wasn't happy with the current options, but there should be more options. The current ones are bland and boring in my opinion. They need some updating.
Some options to maybe add a photo, some options for the seasons, the holidays, something with brighter and more vivid colors, designs, some options based on local characteristics. We are in New England, so many options.

Robert McNemar: We appreciate you taking the time to share these suggestions with our team! I can certainly see how those would allow you to personalize the website further. We'll take all of this into consideration when we look at which new template options to design.

New site templates
Robert McNemar
When we signed with you a 2 or 3 years ago we were told newer, fresher page templates would be developed. We were hesitant to sign up because of the current templates but relented because of the suggestion that newer fresher page templates were coming. Nothing yet 😕
The existing templates need updating. Any idea when?

We're sorry to hear that you're not happy with the current template options! We do still have plans to expand our template options, however, we have to finish redesigning the community website front ends before that will be possible.
Over the past several years, our product team's primary goal has been to finish developing our next gen front ends, which is an enormous project for our team, as it’s a total rewrite of the existing front ends using new cutting-edge technology and design. We’ve prioritized this because improving the front ends considerably allows us to release new features faster.
Our product team has already made significant progress by releasing the Admin Portal, developing a page management experience in the Admin Portal, and updating our company website. The last major piece of this project is developing the new front ends for our community websites, as mentioned above. While we don't have an estimated timeframe for when these will be completed yet, our team is making rapid progress with this last major project!
In the meantime, I'll merge your request with our open post about providing additional template options. That way, you'll be notified via email when we update its status.
Also, we're collecting feedback on what our users would like to have available. Are there specific template designs, colors, or layouts that you'd like to see offered in the future?

More options in settings for website appearance

I have cycled through all the available website "backgrounds" throughout the months, sure would like more options... maybe even seasonal stuff!

Top-Navigation in desktop view

Because the "Pages" container's height changes based on how many items are in there, a great feature would be the ability to have "top" navigation, so the menu appears horizontally across the page. Because the Pages navigation is currently under the community site banner image, users have to always scroll down scroll down to view the list of Pages when expanded (and it makes a large gap in the Main Column text side). I've attached a crude sample.

In the website appearence settings, in addition to the Nature - Autumn option, it would be nice to have seasonal options such as Christmas, Winter, Spring and Summer.

I would love to see additional website templates from which to choose. For example, the existing one called "Nature" is great for fall but it would be nice to have other seasonal options. For example, a snowflake for winter, flowers for spring, perhaps green grass for summer would be good options. I'm sure there are others that could apply.

The default designs are not attractive; they look like they are from 1995. There should be at least one option that uses something like material design principles.

Aaron Smith: Unlike businesses with distinct brands, we realize that communities are more interested in functional, efficient, and optimized designs. To that end, our product team crafted high-quality, clutter-free, and easy-to-navigate templates that are 100% mobile friendly for our customers rather than providing an overabundance of options. This also aligns with our design philosophy, which you can read more about here: https://help.hoa-express.com/en/articles/2347346-how-feedback-change-requests-and-suggestions-are-handled.
Even still, we understand how having more options available would be beneficial! If you have specific design elements you'd like to see included, please share them here. That way, we can consider those when designing future templates.

Meredith Owens: Thanks, honestly I think https://blog.hoa-express.com/hello-next-gen-front-ends/ describes what I am looking for. The admin portal is a good example of a website that is functional and simple, but also feels and looks modern. Any idea what the timeline is for that to be rolled out to community sites?
Meredith Owens
Aaron Smith: I'm afraid we don't have an estimated timeframe for this yet. However, our product team plans to start building the next gen version of the community website front ends once they finish developing the ability for all page types to be viewed and managed within the Admin Portal. We recently released the beta version of this, which you can read more about here: https://help.hoa-express.com/en/articles/7852222-viewing-and-managing-pages-in-the-admin-portal.
