Customize order of What's Happening email sections

Folks in the community say that when they open the What's Happening update email, it is the same every week, they see the recurring games every week and they don’t bother to scroll to the bottom to see the documents posted to the website. Now they say they just delete before even reading cuz it’s always the same. So I thought if we reversed the order, they might pay more attention.

I would like to add my voice to have the News Announcements come first before the calendar items in the What's Happening emails.

1) We would like Calendar events to be condensed and have the option to place them below News Articles and Documents uploaded.
2) Would like to be able to choose which items (new articles, docs, forum comments, etc.) are included and control their sequence.
3) We use News articles to announce upcoming events, and it would be great if we could repeat a news article if we want it to appear in subsequent What's Happening emails.
4) It would also be great if we could link from a News article to a specific calendar event (using a link to that event).

Hi Gina Arasin, I'd like to address & clarify these points:
- This feature request is for reordering the content of What's Happening emails, including the ability to move news articles ahead of other sections. For condensing the size of calendar events in What's Happening emails, I'd recommend sharing your thoughts as a new feature request: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests/create.
- This is a separate feature request found here: https://feedback.hoa-express.com/feature-requests/p/select-what-content-is-included-in-the-whats-happening-email. I'd recommend adding your vote to that feature request.
- This wouldn't be practical for us to implement, so I'd recommend republishing any news articles you wish to have re-included in future What's Happening emails.
- When viewing an event on the calendar, you can copy the URL in your browser's URL bar and use that to share the link to the event anywhere else, like in news articles!

Wes Cossick, regarding using a link to calendar event, in a past support request, I was told that we could not do that because the url for individual calendar events changed. Has that issue been resolved?

Gina Arasin: Ah, that’s true, that’s a limitation of the way the current community sites are designed. With our Admin Portal, which is powered by modernized code, it’s designed in a fundamentally different way that prevents this from occurring. When we modernize the community sites, it’ll be designed in the same way and won’t face this issue either.
For now, if you use the “announce” tool for events in the Admin Portal, you can copy the link it produces in the announcement email to get a link that won’t change. Attached is a brief GIF demonstrating how to copy the event URL from there.
